Wednesday Want-it: Maroon

Technically this is a Wednesday Did-Want-it-but-now-have-it...okay you caught me, I'll admit this is a review disguised as a Wednesday Want-it. At my school fayre two weekends ago (where we raised around £7500 btw if you're interested) I saw this lovely maroon nail varnish from Tesco but when I went there I couldn't find it. I ended up buying the Glamour Magazine with the free Nails Inc nail varnish in Victoria, which I was curious to try as my friend swears by them...

I quite like this nail varnish - the colour is lovely and it looks different in different lights. It is smooth, fast drying and after a week of wearing mine is chip-free. I also only needed one coat to achieve quite a dark colour which means I'll get more wears out of the bottle, yay! On the other hand, it was hard to apply and the consistency can only be described as gloopy when wet. Considering this product usually retails at £11 I don't think I can say it's worth it (but hey I'm a cheapskate) but as a freebie from a £2 magazine I was very pleased and I'd recommend it!

Did any of you buy the Glamour magazine this month and get this freebie? Or did you buy a Nail Incs nail varnish? :)

P.S. My actual Wednesday Want-it: please please please let my music exam go okay tomorrow.

Stretton Antiques Market

Stretton Antiques Market (south of Shrewsbury) is a four-floored treasure trove of retro goodies and funky antiques. The photos I've uploaded were just from a small area of the shop, it's ginormous! I don't even know how to describe it and I don't think I'd do proper justice to it if I did. It's actually magical and we spent about 3 hours in there just looking! There's something for everyone - from little knick knacks to jewellery to furniture. And what I loved most was the cute tea room with the lights, and the little stone creature sitting outside picking his nose!

NB. Sorry that this post was photo-heavy but it was so hard to choose only a few of the many photos taken.

Ready Set Go!

Dress - Boohoo
Belt - Primark
Hat - Primark
Scarf - Primark
Cardie - Charity shop

Blue + black = big fashion nono, but not wearing a cardie + winter = big bethan nono. I'd rather be warm over fashionable anyday! This cardie is my guilty pleasure - it's huge and shapeless but it's warm and it cost £3.50! My day has literally gone like this: Got up. Dressed. Ran to train station. Saw train leaving station. Almost cried. Got next train. Bought birthday present for my friend Anna. Ran to train station in town. Almost fell down escalator (saw my life flash before my eyes). Got home. Ate. Dressed as Tweedledee -laughed at how silly I looked. And out the door again to Anna's Alice in Wonderland party.

OOTD: it's your chance to shine

Jumper: Lung Cancer Research UK
Jeans: Primark
Converse: TK Maxx
Ring: Primark
Apple Tattoo: School Fayre
Messy nails: c/o me

Me + painting nails at a school fayre = nail vanish all over my hands. You (hopefully) won't notice it on these pictures though because of the way I took them - I'm sneaky like that. I'm too tired to jibber jabber on about this outfit so I'll summarise it in 14 words: My love for this brown jumper and sparkly black nail varnish knows no bounds.

Wednesday Want-it: Neverland

Asos Peter Pan Collar Jersey Dress - £8

It has been said that when looking for fashion inspiration we should take a look back at our former selves and what we once wore. In one of the photos my mum has of me as a baby I'm sat on the kitchen floor in a basket wearing a tartan dress with a Peter Pan collar, with a sieve on my head and waving a plastic cutlass (in my defense I was being a pirate). Now over a decade later, Peter Pan collars are on trend and it seems baby me was ahead of the game - credit to my mother for dressing me (she's a trendy lady).

MUA Lipstick Review

MUA Shade 11

I don't tend to wear make-up much but whilst browsing through Superdrug the other day I saw the MUA stand and having heard much prasie about it, I thought 'Hey why not be adventurous' and bought this lipstick. It's a lovely deep pink colour and it smells like cherry sweets, yum! I wore it for a party the other night and after a few hours of drinking, eating and dancing it had stayed on pretty well. Considering I also like the modern packaging, overall I'm pleased with this lipstick. Let's just say this impulse paid off - the last time I thought 'Hey why not be adventurous' I ended up with a broken nose. You win some, you lose some...

Wednesday Want-it: These boots are made for walking...

Abbott Lace Up Brogue Ankle Boots - Topshop - £55

As the leaves turn orange and fall from the trees and the days get windier and colder, summer sandals and flipflops are sadly packed away and boot sales in shops nationwide shoot skywards. Worn with woolly tights, thick socks or skinny jeans, forget diamonds - boots are a girl's best friend.

With my love of brogues, these boots seem perfect to me. I actually saw some in Vogue from Tommy Hilfiger which were £140 but being a 15 year old with no job or pocket money, they were completely unrealistic. These Topshop boots however seem more ideal. 100% leather brogue boots for a good price? Excuse me I'm just going to go update my Christmas list...
