Adios 2011!

Though many people are saying good riddance to 2011, I'll be sad to see it go. This year's been an interesting one and though there's been hard times and tricky situations, I've also made new friends, had so many fun times and laughs and learnt new things. Goodbye 2011, it's been fun!

My New Years Resolutions:
  • Finally finish sorting out my room (the pieces of my new wardrobe have been in our garage for 2 years now!)
  • Learn the guitar
  • Try to go to bed earlier so I wake up earlier and aren't late for school almost every day!
  • Try something new with my hair
  • Get organised - no more doing homeworks in the morning or buying presents the day before a party

I've decided 2012 is going to be the 'year of time'. I'm going to try and use my time better because I seem to waste so much of it doing pointless things when I should be working, or sewing a new dress, or I could go on bike rides, go swimming, play the piano, read a good book, bake a cake, knit a scarf, play cards with my little sister - the list is endless!

In my family we're not big celebrators of NYE - it's all about Chinese New Year for us - so we're just getting together for a meal and general good times. Whatever you're doing this new year and whoever you're doing it with, I hope you have a fabby time! :)

OOTD: I'm back in Liverpool

Jumper: Charity Shop
Dress: Tesco
Tights: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Charity Shop
Bag & Necklace: Primark

Do you want to know a great way to spend a Sunday? Grab your mum, go to a beautiful city, look around an amazing art exhibition, go shopping and then by chance walk past a marching band parade. And don't even think about school the next day (or your large pile of undone homework).

P.S. This has sat in my drafts posts since September, I forgot it was there :')

OOTD: Bee loves velvet and lace

Dress worn as top:
Skirt, tights, scarf and hat: Primark
Blazer: Mama Bee's
Boots: Charity Shop

Cheeky bit of mistletoe!

Most mornings I barely think about my clothes and just throw on any old thing, but some mornings I stop, look in my wardrobe and think 'How do I feel?' The answer today was 'like a vampire' (This may or may not have something to do with watching Vampire Diaries last night.) So out came the dark colours and the textures - black lace, marroon velvet, brown leather. (Sadly full vampish make up complete with fake blood seemed just a tad too much for a daytime shopping trip.)

My friend Jay and I braved the Liverpool sales today, they were unbelievably crowded! I bought some boots, a ring and nail varnish while Jay bought a CD and some Vans. If you too are braving the sales, happy bargain hunting!

P.S. I've thrown in some Christmassy photos too, just for good measure! x

E is for Extra-Terrestrial

It's been about two months since I lasted posted about my Alphabet Nail Art Challenge...I'm a bad blogger *hangs head in shame* I struggled with letter E, all I could think of was elephant and egg (have a gold medal for imagination, Bethan) so I did something clever  stupid...I stole 'G is for Galaxy' and changed it to E (cheeky!)... now watch me struggle to think of something for G...

Christmas Want-it: One week to go!

* We're All Mad Here Necklace - £28 - Hannah Zakari * Suedette Cut Out Shoes - £24.99 - New Look * Barbed Wire Ring - £6 - Topshop * Russian Red Lipstick - £13.50 - Mac * Snake Bracelet - £5 - Topshop * Daisy Eau So Fresh - Marc Jacobs * Glitter Spot Velvet Dress - £46 - Topshop * 2true Cheek and Lip Tint - £1.99 - Superdrug *

One week to go until Christmas!!! There's something about Christmas that makes me go back to the mentality of a child, and just dance around the house waving tinsel and singing carols - I guess that's the beauty of this holiday, there's just nothing like it!

It has the best of Easter (chocolate) and birthdays (lets not lie, presents). It brings the family together. It gives you an excuse to decorate your house in any way you choose - the more tinsel and lights the better! The excuse to eat as much as you like - bring on the yule log and mince pies! And it fills everyone with joy and contentedness. Almost everybody loves Christmas (the exception being my music teacher who is the Grinch personified).

Today has been such a lazy Sunday - don't judge me, but I got up at half 12, eek! All I've done is eat, sleep, watch TV and go on my laptop *hangs head in shame* So I'm going to go grab a stack of Christmas CD's, put them on full blast and dance around tidy my room...

P.S. There's a stack of Christmas posts coming your way, watch this space :)

Wednesday Want-it: Maroon

Technically this is a Wednesday Did-Want-it-but-now-have-it...okay you caught me, I'll admit this is a review disguised as a Wednesday Want-it. At my school fayre two weekends ago (where we raised around £7500 btw if you're interested) I saw this lovely maroon nail varnish from Tesco but when I went there I couldn't find it. I ended up buying the Glamour Magazine with the free Nails Inc nail varnish in Victoria, which I was curious to try as my friend swears by them...

I quite like this nail varnish - the colour is lovely and it looks different in different lights. It is smooth, fast drying and after a week of wearing mine is chip-free. I also only needed one coat to achieve quite a dark colour which means I'll get more wears out of the bottle, yay! On the other hand, it was hard to apply and the consistency can only be described as gloopy when wet. Considering this product usually retails at £11 I don't think I can say it's worth it (but hey I'm a cheapskate) but as a freebie from a £2 magazine I was very pleased and I'd recommend it!

Did any of you buy the Glamour magazine this month and get this freebie? Or did you buy a Nail Incs nail varnish? :)

P.S. My actual Wednesday Want-it: please please please let my music exam go okay tomorrow.

Stretton Antiques Market

Stretton Antiques Market (south of Shrewsbury) is a four-floored treasure trove of retro goodies and funky antiques. The photos I've uploaded were just from a small area of the shop, it's ginormous! I don't even know how to describe it and I don't think I'd do proper justice to it if I did. It's actually magical and we spent about 3 hours in there just looking! There's something for everyone - from little knick knacks to jewellery to furniture. And what I loved most was the cute tea room with the lights, and the little stone creature sitting outside picking his nose!

NB. Sorry that this post was photo-heavy but it was so hard to choose only a few of the many photos taken.
